Neljä Lab is an art space in Helsinki founded to address a gap — the absence of a dedicated platform for East Asian artistic heritage in a Nordic city. The space responds to a social need — for places where cultural exchange happens through direct experience rather than explanation, and where learning is unhurried and open to all.

Rooted in the philosophy of the Four Treasures, the space was created not to preserve tradition behind glass, but to bring it into active, contemporary life. It exists where cultural knowledge is practised, shared, and allowed to evolve in dialogue with the communities around it.

Through exhibitions, open calls, and workshops, Neljä Lab creates conditions for genuine encounter — between artists and audiences, between Eastern and Western creative practices, between different generations and backgrounds. Its programme supports artists at different stages, offering visibility, platforms for collaboration, and opportunities to connect with collectors and a broader public.
